ME- Scholar’s work shows a level of independent completion and substantially exceeds the grade level expectations for quality. The work may not be perfect but it includes complexity, sophistication, originality, depth/application that clearly exceeds what would be expected to meet the standards.

MM- Scholar’s work suggests it was independently completed and fundamentally meets the standard being assessed and the assessment requirements. It is competent work that demonstrates the essential skills and knowledge for that grade level or content area.

MA- Scholar’s work may suggest that it was done with additional support and has demonstrated a substantive attempt to meet the standards of grade level assignments but needs more time to achieve proficiency. This may mean that the scholar has met the majority of the performance indicators for that assessment or genuinely attempted to meet the criteria.

MB- Scholar’s work may suggest that it was done with additional support and does not demonstrate substantive progress toward meeting the standards or criteria. This may mean scholar has not met the majority of the performance indicators for that criteria
